Koning Albert is an eye-catching black rabicano stallion who is outstandingly calm, gentle & talented and showing great natural ability. Koning Albert is competing at 1m40 now, placed in unaffiliated eventing at 1m with double clears and now also competing with great success at dressage at Medium level. He was placed at Regional Elementary level, won many classes at the recent U25's at Sheepgate and is the current National U25 Elementary Champion, gaining twenty two 8's in one of his tests. He scored 9’s at his Approval grading for movement and Jumping with high overall marks.
He is LIFE APPROVED with both the AES and Breeders Elite, showing his continuing quality and talent.
He is a very calm stallion and coupled with a relaxed, kind and affectionate temperament, he is well known for being the perfect gentleman amongst other horses. Koning Albert is by the successful KWPN sire Freeman VDL, who as a 3 year old was the Champion at the KWPN show and continued great success. His sire Emmerton VDL Elite stallion was highly successful as a showjumper at 1m60, passing on his great nature. His grandsire on his dams side, Chin Chin had a very impressive jumping career. In 1988 he won five competitions in the North American Champion League Circuit and finished 6th individually at the Olympic Games in Seoul. Four years later he attended the Olympic Games in Barcelona. In 1990 Chin Chin started in the inaugural World Equestrian Games in Stockholm. In 1989 and in 1990 he was placed in the finals of the World Cup in Dortmund and Tampa. The dam line is from the great Corland (Holst) who is from the famous Holsteiner Line 104A, which goes directly back to Retsina who, herself, was a two time winner of the Hamburg Derby. Corland had an impressive career under W.J. van der Schans placing, among others, in the following Grand Prix’s: 2nd in Rotterdam, 4th in Oslo and Den Bosch, 5th in Bordeaux and Maastricht, 6th in Helsinki, 7th in Zuidlaren, La Baule and Calgary. He also was Champion of the Benelux in The Hague, 7th in the World Cup of Verona and 2nd in The Sires of the World in Lanaken. At the European Championship, Corland proved to all that he belongs in the category of the best in the world. He won both qualifiers and had the best results of the Nation’s competition with the fastest clear round in the qualifying speed class. In the finals, he was 9th. Concorde was the sire with the most offspring at the World Breeding Championships for young horses. The preferent Concorde has proved himself to be an absolute top sire of international sporthorses. His offspring Audi’s Jikke, Kathja, Conquest II, Larino, Viktor and Isabella proved themselves at the very top at Grand Prix level (1.60 m.) and World Cup jumping. In the Grand Prix of Rotterdam 3 from the top 8, had Concorde to thank as their sire. At the World Cup final at Las Vegas had 4 offspring in the finals. Concorde was the youngest stallion ever to be awarded preferent, due to his endless list of national and international children. Concorde was elected “Horse of the Year” in 2004 and is the highest ranked KWPN stallion in the top ten of the WBFSH. These stallions all successfully jumping at 1m60 and producing many offspring jumping at International level.
Koning Alberts dam, Zowie, herself a Keur EPTM graded mare also jumped at 1m20 is also from a line of Keur and Preferent graded jumping mares all with fabulous temperaments.
All Koning Alberts' foals have all inherited his stunning looks, temperament and all have very correct conformations whatever mare he is put to.
Koning Jesko (Koning Albert x Calvados Z x Celano) gained Silver Premium at his grading and another 2 year old is doing well at in hand showing. All are proving very easy to train.
