Rubicell is a premium Oldenburg stallion, son of the world famous and much sought after dressage sire Rubinstein I. Rubinstein lines feature in many of the top dressage horses in the world today.
Rubicell did a very good Stallion Performance Test in Neustadt/Dosse in 1999. He has also had a successful competition career in addition to standing as a breeding stallion. As a 5-year-old, he competed in the German Federal Dressage Championship. Following his success in dressage competitions, at the age of 6 he started showjumping and was winning right from the start, proving he is a highly talented and dual-purpose stallion!
As a breeding stallion, Rubicell he has been exceptionally successful. In the evaluation of his first crop of offspring under saddle, Rubicell was the sire with the highest ranking offspring, earning him the Main Premium Stallion title. It is most noteworthy that the nine offspring representing him had an average score of 8.0 for rideability! He also had 3 offspring in the Final of the German Championships at Tubingen in 2005. Rubicell is an S level series Champion working at Prix St George with scope for much more.
Rubicell’s sire, Rubinstein I is a world famous, highly sought after sire and along with Donnerhall, is thought to be one of the most influential stallions in dressage breeding. Rubinstein comes from a top class influential dressage lineage, notably the mare Dodona, who is closely related to two other top stallions Ahlerich and Rembrandt. Both his sports career and his stud career Rubinstein skyrocketed before he passed away sadly in the year 2000 at the relatively young age of 14.
Rubicell’s dam is by Lord Liberty, who was one of the most promising up and coming young German showjumpers, who caused a sensation at the Federal German Dressage Championship in Verden in 1990. Unfortunately, Lord Liberty suddenly and unexpectedly passed away when he was only 6 years old, so his bloodline is rare. A number of his sons were approved, despite his relatively short covering period, including the Stallion Performance Test winner Liberty M, and showjumpers Liberty Son, Last Liberty, Lord Lorenzo, Lord Nobel S and Lord Liberty G. Many other showjumpers by Lord Liberty reached international level, including inter alia, Rene Tebbel’s Le Patron.
In 2011 Rubicell was ranked world #35 eventing stallion in the WBFSH sire rankings and his offspring have done exceptionally well.
